Birria Nachos Recipe

This recipe couldn’t be easier! Create your mouth watering Birria in just a few simple steps.

SERVES 2 (To make for 4 people use 2 bombs and double the ingredients)

FOR THE BIRRIA STEW:

  • 1 Birria Bomb
  • 350ml water (250ml if using slow cooker) 
  • 400g beef brisket

FOR THE NACHOS:

  • Tortilla Chips
  • Mozzarella
  • Salsa
  • Guacamole
  • Sour Cream

 

TO MAKE THE BIRRIA:

1. Add the beef and water to a pan or your slow cooker. Bring to a simmer.

2. Bombs away!
(Pop the Bomb into your pot)

3. Leave on a low heat and stir occasionally for 15mins until the flavour bomb has dissolved.

4. Cover the pot with a lid and simmer on a low heat for 3 hours, stir occasionally. Add more water if needed, it should never run out.

5. Remove the meat from the sauce and shred. It will just fall apart. 

 

ASSEMBLE:

Nachos

Add a layer of foil to a baking tray (makes cleaning easier!). Generously cover the tray with your Tortilla Chips. Sprinkle a layer of the shredded Birria Beef and then a layer of grated mozzarella. Grill for a few minutes until the cheese has melted. Spoon over your fresh salsa, guacamole and sour cream to taste. Lastly, dig in and get messy!
